The Nation needs salt!

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and trodden under foot of men. (Matthew 5:13)

Christians are the salt, the Church is the container. The salt preserves and the Nation needs preserving! The fabric of society is falling apart - in fact, going rotten.But why is this happening? Well it is simple - the salt is not being poured out from the container! It is easy for a church to be completely inward looking and forget it's ministry to the world. Our Nation like the world is in trouble and needs this salt. It has become rotten because of a lack of Christian influence. Let us not fool ourselves. If we don't minister to our Nation (and the world) what is the purpose of the church on the earth? What about the Great Commission? An inward looking church is like a container full of salt that is never used. The salt will become stale and ineffective. Could it be that the state of our Nation reflects the state of the Church in this land?
